SNOW PEAK CAMPFIELD
If you ever are in the PNW, Snow Peak’s Campfield in Long Beach, WA is a must visit for Roadster Campers. Being the only Campfield by Snow Peak in North America, it is conveniently the midway point for campers from Seattle and Portland.
Going over the bridge in Astoria connecting OR to WA
The experience of camping here is incomparable to other campgrounds. From the amenities, to the cleanliness, to the beauty & tranquility - this campground is easily accessible for any Roadster with any modification. Upon arrival you will check in at the gatehouse through a paved parking lot. No gravel, no uneven dips, so it’s super easy for lower Roadsters to get into. You would be checking into 1 of 3 of these stays:
Field Site (M or L)
Tent Suite (Landlock or Rigel)
Jyubako Suite
Clean parking lot in front of gatehouse
Once you’ve checked into your site, they have wagons to haul all your gear from the parking lot to the field because you cannot park next to your site like typical campgrounds. On this trip 2 friends and I used our Vault Dome + Penta Tarp. Being late November, it’s best if we brought a tent that could turn into a shelter like this one in case the forecast decides to change last minute. It has an inner tent that attaches easily, or we can keep it detached and just hangout in this big tunnel-like shell.
Vault Dome, Penta Tarp, Red Chair(3) & Single Action Table (L)
View from inside Dome with no inner tent yet applied
At a standard field site like this (M) we only had room for 1 tent maximum, so for 3 people the Vault Dome was our best choice. Every site/suite comes minimum with chairs and a Takibi fire pit for you and your group. The Campfield also offers rental kits to cover anything you may have not had room for or just don’t have in general. If you need single item rentals (like a tent, tarp, sleeping gear etc.) they have a selection of individual items as well. More info on rentals and check in can be found on the Campfield website.
When you’ve set up, you have many options to explore and participate in:
THE CAMPSTORE
Any essentials you might need, or gear you may have forgotten to pack will be there on site! Inside there is also a cafe, a lounge area if you needed to get work done or just wanted to eat and hangout indoors, a huge selection of snacks/ingredients, and Snow Peak gear available for purchase. The cool thing about the camp store is they don’t sell any products online, so you may find items that have sold out everywhere else, or if you’re lucky, old exclusive festival items!
OFURO SPA
If you want to wind down after a long day of driving and setting up, the Ofuro spa offers just that. The sauna and cold plunge pool being conveniently across from each other, the heated soaking pool with a view under the pavilion, and a fire ring off to the side with the sound of wildlife in the pond right outside the spa.
Soaking pool
Hinoki cypress sauna + cold plunge pool
Ofuro Spa is included with your stay. The front desk will give you a time slot during your stay and there are some hours where it is 21+. If you are only visiting for the day it’s $35 for a 120 minute session.
Alternative overnight options (2 night min.):
TENT SUITES
Get a full Snow Peak style experience with their Rigel or Landlock suite. All you have to bring is bedding, clothes, and food! Everything is there for you if you don’t want to pack, don’t have gear, or are limited on space. Prices varying between $130-$210 a night depending on time of week and year.
Tent Suites are set up year round
JYUBAKO SUITES
If you didn’t want to stay in a tent and instead got a cabin, they are located right next to the Spa and are so cozy! Similar to the tent suites, all you need is clothes and food. Everything else is there for you. Prices varying between $180-$250 a night depending on time of week and year.
Jyubako suites are extremely cozy for 2 people!
This campground is a great introduction to Snow Peak style camping if you have little to no gear, wanna try out some of Snow Peaks most renowned gear, or just wanna pack a few things and not worry about doing too much research before leaving the house! They’ve got you covered in multiple ways and even make a day trip totally worth it.
Ice and firewood are always available at the campstore, the showers/bathrooms are individual and heated, the dishwashing station has soap, hot water, and drying racks… all top tier camping luxuries you won’t find at other campgrounds. There is plenty to do on and off the campground during all seasons. Give this place a try and see how it changes your perspective on camping. I would look past any comparisons pricing wise between Campfield and standard campgrounds and really immerse yourselves in the way of a Snow Peak camper. Not every camp trip will have amenities such as a place like this, but coming here and then going back into the field, you at least leave here with some kind of idea on what your trips could be like. It just might change everything for you, the way it changed everything for me. I’ve done many trips with and without SP gear before ever coming here, but the sauce isn’t in the gear itself or this ground. It’s in the inspiration that came from the people who took the first steps in pushing the standard on what “camping” could mean. That’s the way of a Snow Peak camper.

EXTRA INFORMATION-
The Campstore and Spa do have closing times, please respect them.
There is not much lighting as far as paths go albeit a “luxury” experience, so pack portable lighting to get around at night.
You will need to bring your own towel, shower shoes, and swim suit as none are for rent.
Walk in bookings are allowed, but to secure a spot you will have a better chance booking online beforehand. If you book in person, you get the chance to walk around the campfield to see which site suits you best if bringing your own gear.
There is a communal XL Takibi fire pit outside the campstore for day trippers or communal gatherings. Just ask an associate to turn it on for you.
Fire pit and kitchen rental kits are available for field sites.
